Why we launched MoneyLens, our jargon-free money website
Ever feel behind in money matters and not sure how to catch up?
As a millennial working in the financial services industry, financial concerns are something my peers often approach me about. And to be honest, even I struggle with the jargon and maze of information. What is the best way to save for retirement? When should I start saving for my child’s school?
What in the heck is the difference between frontier markets and emerging markets? What is a dividend or a commodity? And if I have difficulties, as an industry insider, how are my friends and family faring on the other side?
A group of us got together in an effort to answer these, and many other burning questions. When we started, we didn’t know what to expect. We simply set out to share our experiences and try to make sense of a world we are all a part of (whether we like it or not). We ended up with MoneyLens.
MoneyLens is a jargon free website designed to guide you through your financial journey. We cover everything from investing in your future to saving money, to simply understanding the language you hear everyday. Originally launched in the UK MoneyLens received great feedback, so we decided to bring it across the pond.
We get it. When it comes to investing, sometimes you just don't know where to start. MoneyLens wants to help.
In 2016, the Schroders Research team found that 94% of millennials expressed an interest in learning smart ways to invest, compared to 85% of older generations.
That’s our mission –to help you learn and become financially fit. Through our stories and personal experiences, we hope to help you not only save more but make those savings work harder.
Our team of writers from our global offices has broken down everything from tricky investing terms to cutting edge financial innovations. Get to know us here.
And it's not just for millennials. Along the way, we realized that simple, straightforward (and hopefully entertaining) financial knowledge has a universal appeal.
So, whether you’re trying to get ahead of the crowd in savings and investments, or just racing to keep up, we're here to help. We'd love to hear what you think and what you’d like to see more of - let us know at email@example.com, or find us on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
